PRESIDENT TALKSApril 20th, 2022 Happy Spring! CRA has embraced the new year with many exciting developments! This year CRA added two new board members: Heather Honaker of Rappahannock Area CSB in Virginia and Tracy Abzug of Integral Care in TX. We have also added additional committee members to our Conference and Training & Education Committees. We are excited for the great ideas and energy they will bring to the CRA! CRA has been actively engaged in the Mental Health Liaison Group (MHLG) since joining last fall, adding our name to many letters of support for mental health-related legislation. Also, in April, I traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with two U.S. Senators’ offices to discuss ways to expand payment of crisis residential services for previously uncovered populations. Through this advocacy we hope to expand possible Crisis Residential and Respite payor sources for our members and programs. As we look forward to a bright Spring and joyful Summer CRA wishes you all the best! - Travis Atkinson, President Crisis Residential Association |
